I can think of several problems that would cause this.
There have been several manufacturer errors with VAIO in the past. Of a couple i can think of, the most likely would be;
A: Some wonky software problem. While i cant think off of the top of my head, its probably best to check anyway. You can either boot in safe mode or revert to last known good configuration. While this may seem entirely necessary, sometimes software works in mysterious ways. Edit: Also, while i doubt spyware could have anything to do with it whatsoever, its still best to run multiple spyware checks etc. just to clear up the possibility
B: A loose connection between the LCD screen and the computer. This is really common, as those VAIO hinges are very often cheaply made and quite faulty. This is a very easy problem to diagnose and fix. Simply plug a generic PnP monitor into the back of the computer, and close the case. If you dont get the fuzzing effect on the monitor, then you know its from a faulty connection to the laptop monitor. This seems even more likely as you said that it gets worse when you move the screen.
C: Some sort of interference problem. While rare, i have had people bring me in laptops/desktops before with a strange sort of fuzzing out or rippling in the screen, only to find they were having a compatibility problem with something near the computer (Coffee maker, blender, hell sometimes even PC speakers). Again, this is a pretty rare problem though as i believe most hardware is required by law to not give out any "harmful interference"
D: Some sort of miscellaneous hardware error. Be it a breakdown in the graphics card, some wierd hard drive error causing it to emit the aforementioned interference, which i have experienced before, or, as i saw one time, a large amount of ants inside a computer case causing it to behave erratically.
(Note: Please refer to an exterminator to deal with any insect problems.)
