Toshiba laptop lid loose.

Hello,

I have a problem with a Toshiba 2450 laptop. I will try to explain the problem. The lid is loose and when I open it, it doesn’t stay where I move it but it either goes all the way back back or shuts down.

I think there is a problem with the screws or something that keeps it to the position that you move it. I removed the front of the screen but it seems that the pins that hold the lid to the position that you move it are attached to the speakers of the laptop. So I guess I have to also remove the speakers or something? Does anyone know how can I do that without taking the whole laptop apart?

Has anyone else had any similar problem? I googled it but I haven’t found a similar case yet.

I bought a 19'' external monitor and I use the laptop like a desktop!

That was the best solution I could come up with, considering I would have to pay around £200 for a new lcd laptop screen.
