Question camera not recognized

hi, my girlfriend's pc (xp service pack 2) won't find her digital camera when connected via usb anymore. Have tried it on my pc (xp pro no sevice pack) and it works fine. Tried the scanner and camera wizard on hers, but her make of camera (trust) isn't listed. Have tried to use the installation disk that came with the camera but it just starts to run then tells me it's not needed for xp, will automatically find it as new hardware which it doesn't. Have run antivirus (norton) ad aware and spybot with no success either. Any ideas or help very much appreciated.

check your hardware wizard, makesure its finding the USB ports on her computer. or start simple, try a diffrent usb cord, maybe that one is just crap.
always address simple hardware before digging into the software, and dont do more then one thing at a time, that way you make sure you know what the problem was incase it happens again

have tried that. Her cable works on mine. The device manager doesn't show up any of her usb connections, so i can't upgrade or roll back the drivers incase that is the problem?

Red face Shot in the dark!

How about uninstalling SP2?

I had so many probs with it that in the end I got rid of it.

My computer was much happier after that....

Try and see. You can always re-install if that does not help.

i was considering that as a final resort. She had the pc fixed recently due to some corrupt driver issues and they installed sp2, however it was fine b4 that, so might do it. I've never installed it as i've heard so many problems with it. I just update all my secutity regularly.
