Question Wierd Noise then.....

I'm a newbie to laptops. I own a thinkpad that i resently got about a month ago. When I'm on it for a while it gets really hot then makes a weird clicking noise and freezes. I shut it down and wait for it to cool off and then its fine. The fan is fine i just had a new one installed. Can some one help me?

If the laptop is under warranty get it returned otherwise get it to a proper repair shop before any major damage is caused.

all laptops get hot, if it is older make sure it is getting proper ventalation, as far as the noise and freezing, try a new hard drive, possibly the bearing in the drive is going out and it wont spin the disk properly thus skipping data and it will freeze

Before fitting any new components check the warranty status of the machine - unauthorised work could invalidate any warranty you may have.
