[Notebook] How to use USB ports from PCMCIA card
Hi
I have a problem with PCMCIA card with four USB 2.0 ports.
I'm using Win XP Home with both service packs installed and latest updates...
When I insert card system correctly recognize it (NEC USB 2.0 CardBus) and I
can read properties of my new four USB ports in system hardware manager
(i set off thrift energy using in ports properties because i thought that maybe
system doesn't supply energy to ports).
So i can guess that card is recognized...
With PCMCIA card I got torch which I can connect to USB port and it should be
lighting.
Torch is lighting, so PCMCIA card get the energy.
When i'm connecting to USB ports (on pcmcia card) other devices:
- mouse
- adsl modem
- creative muvo (mp3 player, in other ports it's recognized correcty as USB MASS STORAGE...pendrive)
None of those devices work correcty.
ADSL modem get energy but when i'm tying to get connection i got system warning
about no connection to telephone line (in internal usb ports modem works correctly).
When i'm connecting pendrive to other ports (or systems) on player's screen appear icon
which informs about connection with computer but during connection to ports on pcmcia card
descripted icon doesn't appear because system can't mount pendrive.
PS. Now i'm writing from my father's notebook, on my i'm using only Mandriva Linux and problem
looks similar to this from XP:
System recognize pcmcia card with USB ports but i can't use devices connected to this ports.
I'm waiting form some help.
PEACE
