DVD Burner Wont Read Discs

Hey all, not long ago i purchased a new dvd burner and everything was working fine, but now when i put in a standard CD-R disc, it wont read it and autostart nero. It just spins for a while then stops. Ive tried just going through nero and burn, but it says there is no disc. I dont understand, as this worked fine a week ago. Its a Samsung TS-H552B if its any help. I allready unisstalled and updated the drive but to no avail. So any help is much appreciated, cheers!

Do you mean you re-installed the drive and then updated the firmware?
Is it int. or ext. drive?

How old is it? I have DVD rom which I have updated but it will still won't recognise certain media. Did you use the same media when it did work?

Did you install the cursed SP2 in the while between then and now? Is the UDMA enabled on this drive? Is CD recording enabled on this drive?

I am not sure I can help (probably not) but I think that further details will help the proper geeks out there help you.

Heh cheers Tzobal. I uninstalled an then reinstalled a new driver, then also updated the firmware, but no luck. I have been using the same blank cd's (media?) the whole time, so no difference there, and also the burner was installed after win xp sp2 was installed, so shouldnt be probs there either.

But after some research, looks as if im not the only one having problems with this model (and maybe brand) of burner.
