Hard disk Partition size Problem

I have a wierd problem when I partition my HDD. Its a Quantum Fireball 30GB HDD. I have deleted all partition and created new Primary, Ext and Logical partition and formeted it with FAT32. During format it didnt find any BAD block or didnt generate any error. But When I see the partition from another OS (XP from another HDD), I foud 20-30% of my HDD space has taken from every partition. But I dont have any data in it. I tried with Partition magic 8 and Dos tool Fdisk. But got no result.

Please someone help me with this.

well, when creating a partition, it always takes drive space to store boot information, but 20%-30% is a lot of space.

i wouldn't worry about it, should be normal.
