Vaio Display shuts down in 30 secs.

Hi, I'm new to this site and have a problem with my display (cpu) for my sony vaio PCV-RX580. It all came together, the puter and display. It shuts down after being put on in about 30 secs and the yellow or orange light flashes on the front of it. It was fine, then kaput. I have another cpu which is older and works fine on this sony vaio. The sony cpu works fine on another older computer, just not the one it came with. I've checked all the "power options" etc..hibernation settings etc, but no sign of the trouble. Been on the websites of microsoft windows xp home and sony vaio, but to no avail. Please help.
