USB controller not detected

I am running a MSI KM4M-V mnotherboard. I just formatted my HD and installed Win XP SP2.

When i go to Device Manager, there is no USB controller, so i cannot use any USB device. How can that be? I thought it was supposed to be automatically detected after formatting?

Anyone can help?

looking under drivers, it says for XP go to Windows Update for the drivers for USB2 or apply the lasest service patch. I'd check the win update to see if the driver is shown under driver downloads.
