Maxtor 160 GB HDD

I have just purchased a Maxtor 160 Gb Hard drive (Internal) and am having some difficulty setting it up.

When I was installing windows 2k pro, it allowed me to proced up untill the point where window's is booted for the first time, the screen turned blue, and gave me the critical warning screen (this happens every time at the same point)

I tried:
  • Reinstalling w 2k
  • adjusting the bios settings

Now with the bios there is another issue, It won't allow me to manually type in the drive settings (cylinders etc.) and I don't know why, it was my third solution (and maxtors 2nd).

I really don't know what else to do.

Any suggestions?

Me - "Well you can do the same for our web based database"
Manager - " Excel is friendlier"
Me - "hmm, okay, but how do we share the database with the entire angency?"
Manager - "easy, post it on our website"
Me - "but our database is already web based"

Your Bios doesn't support HDD greater than 138GB. Try update Bios from manufacturer if you can.
