Microphone Volume Problem

Hey, my microphone volume is too quiet when I try to use it, I want to be heard clearly but I literally have to shout just to get my microphone to pick it up.

I've tried volume controls and they're all at MAX, but still no changes.
My microphone is a C-Media Wave Device, Operating System is Windows XP Professional.

Everytime I try to have an audio conversation with my friend over MSN, my voice is too quiet and I literally have to shout to be heard which isn't fun at all. I've also tried the MSN Audio Wizard but that doesn't help the slightest.

Any ideas? ^_^;
