Radeon 9600 Pro halts boot

Hi all,

I have a Tyan Tachyon Radeon 9600 Pro which, when I put it into my machine (swapping for a Nvidia GeForce 440MX) emits a two-toned bleeping sound and stops the machine from booting (I see nothing on the screen at all). I am wondering if this is an AGP/Voltage problem and whether it is fixable?

My system specs are:

AMD 64 3000 CPU
ASUS K8V Mobo
2x120gb Barracuda HD
1024MB Kingston ram PC3200
