Modem Detecting Problem

Hey guys, I have a 56k Modem that I installed onto a Windows 98SE bases Compaq PC then I installed Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and now when I go into Network Connections under all the Dial Up ones it says Unavailable - Device Missing...I don't know what to do to change it to recognize and use the modem thats on port COM3...What should I do ...Thank You In Advance

What does it say in the device manager? Try removing it in there and reinstalling it.
