Slow memory test at start-up

I started up my machine this morning, and sat at the BIOS screen for about 2 minutes while the PC did it's memory test. This is not normal! It will normally do this in the blink of an eye.I've not changed any settings or added anything for ages. Anyone know what could be causing this?

PC specs are: MSI K8N Neo Platinum NForce3
AMD Athlon64 3400 754pin
1.5gb DDR Ram (333)
ATI Radeon X800XL
2 x IDE HDD (one with o/s installed)
1 x SATA HDD
Windows XP Pro

Many thanks in advance...

Sounds like your Bios setting has been changed to do a full system check at system start. Enter Bios and check the setting and change if nessecary to "quick boot" (or similar).

Yeah thats what I thought... I checked and nothing has changed (fast boot is still enabled) so I disabled it, restarted, went back in and enabled it and the problem remains.

Cheers for the reply though!

You might also try "clearing CMOS" if you haven't already. I would also suggest to download and run "Memtest" to be sure there are no issues there.
