Microphone

[color=Blue]Hey,
Can you please tell me, with what all i have to take care about my mic settings on my computer?
I have tried out three different sets of headphones.
I cannot record anything on that.
Firstly the music on my system would get recorded.
But now even that is not possible.
Please help.

Settings

What do you mean by "you tried 3 sets of headphones"?
Did you check to see if your "recording volume" is checked to microphone and is at its max?
Have you tried to record from "line in"?
Do your speakers work properly?

Something else I found out about computer microphones is that you actually don't hear the sound through the speakers as you talk thru it. You should hear sound from the "line in" port, though.

Good Luck

(Your question is badly worded, so I am working from scratch here.)

You might want to check what plugs you are plugging your mic/audio into. Audio Out is usually a green coloured port and the mic needs to go into a pink coloured port. ANy others and you will start having problems.

Once you've done that, load up your sound control panel and check that the mic input isn't muted and the sound levels are okay for you to record on. Then grab a sound recording program and set that up. You shouldn't have any problems after that.

Check that the microphone hardware isn't muted? Try the microphone in another PC to see that it isn't the microphone and instead it's the PC hardware that you have that is defective. Download all new up-to-date sound drivers for your motherboard/soundcard.
