sound problem (one side only)

My computer is only giving sound on one side. I tried a couple different sets of speakers, and I tried easing the jack in and out slowly, but no dice. The sound is balanced properly, and reinstalling the sound card driver didn't work either. Does anyone have any other ideas, or do I have to install a new sound card.

Thank you,
Jeff

What brand/model sound card you have? If it's causing you that much trouble just replace it with another one. Sound cards nowadays are very very cheap.
