Exclamation ASUS K8V SE Deluxe Start Up Problem

Hi There,

I'm having a bit of problem with my ASUS motherboard. I was updating my video card from ATI RADEON VE to NVidea Geforce 6800LE AGP8X. And now I'm having the problem that mine monitor doesn't work, It's says NO SIGNAL!! Now I tried to connect the monitor to another pc and that works. So I swapped the video cards back and still expierencing the problem NO SIGNAL. I allready did a BIOS reset and that didn't work. I even tried a PCI videocard and that one didn't work either. So I'm wondering if one of u can help me solving this problem.

Thanks al lot

Tim

Asus have their own forum, I suspect it's the chipset but go here they should have the answer, also they have a utilities at Asus to check your board for faults http://vip.asus.com/forum/index.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
As you will see the first post is a problem with the graphics card on your board.

Hope this helps

Idea

Here's a idea, i had the same problem as you, do you have a metal case? if so i susspect that when u swapped cards you put pressure on the mobo which in turn lowered it so slightly you would never know but low enough to make one of the little metal spiky bits ( not a technical term i know ) make contact with your case, apparently there was a longer one on it than there is meant to be, maybe a design flaw. As the case is metal BAM you get a short circuit and no signal. This happened to me and it took frikkin ages to find out what the prob was, the guy in the shop spent ages looking and testing only by chance did he spot it. He just gave it a quick file down ( be careful) and it worked. I hope this helps and you can sort it out
