CD/DVD problems

It started when I noticed that both of my CD_R and DVD driverswere missing from my computer, the device manager had a yellow sign next to them saying there was an error with the driver, error 39. I went to the Microsoft site, followed instructions involving the registry, rebooted, they are back.

BUT

Both of the drivers will only read a cd/dvd if that cd/dvd is allready in the computer when I reboot it, if I transfer discs, then if I click on say D:, it will say "D:\ is not accessible: incorrect function". However if I reboot, while leaving the disc in there, it will recognize it normally.

What should I do ? Help?
