CD-Rom Woes

I have a 24x CD-ROM drive. When I put a data CD in the drive nothing autostarts. When I got to either Run or My Computer I see an Audio CD icon. When I open the drive contents I get one audio file. This means I cannot install programs or play CD's. What's wrong?

What is the make/model of the CD drive?

Also when you say in 'My Computer' you just get an audio icon, is there any text under the icon? I mean if you put in a disc, does it recognise what the disc is and show the correct label (eg: WinXP setup disc being called 'WinXp Setup Disc' or whatever)?

OK, problem sorted. I've upgraded to Windows XP Pro from Windows ME which really sucked.
