what is the problem with sata disk and intel D101GGC

Hi...

I have come across a strange problem.
I have two computers with configurations

intel 3.0.6GHZ cpu
INTEL D101 GGC Motherboard
seagate 120GB PATA(IDE) hardisk ( Model -- ST3120814A)
1GB ram

intel 3.2 GHz cpu
ASUS P5RD1-VM Motherboard
Samsung 80GB SATA hardisk
1 GB ram

I am going to move to a remote place with 2nd computer(ASUS). I want to interchange the hardisks and carry 120GB PATA hardisk with me.

When i interchanged the hardisks.
The 120GB PATA hardisk works fine on Asus motherboard computer.
but
The 80GB SATA hardisk is not getting detected on Intel D101GGC motherboard.
I connected the SATA cable and SATA power adapter in corresponding slots.
and tried replacing old SATA cable with new (spare) cable also, but no use.
and I also tried by plugging it in all sata slots(1,2,3,4). even then no change. Its not getting detected.
No where in BIOS It shows the hardisk name and number.(samsung) like in bios of ASUS motherboard.
instead of booting it says DISK FAILURE.

What might be the problem??? Is there any settings to be changed in BIOS of D101GGC.??? or any accessories to be added to motherboard to support SATA hardisk???
