Laptop Screen Problems

Hello,
My laptop, brand hp, is given me tons of trouble. The labtop screen is black, but I can make out images on it. This happen to me last week, and I was able to fix it by closing the lid several times. However, this time it will flicker to normal color and brightness, but then instantly revert back to the black screen. i have also taken apart my laptop, and nothing is obviously hindering the connection there. Any suggestions? thanks for the time

I think that it may be my backlight(?) but it will flash to normal color, so could it just be a connection somewhere? and any suggestions where. or is it compeltly burnt out?

My laptop had the same problem, and then got worse. For mine the start of the problem was the little rubber nob at the top right of the keyboard that shuts the screen off when you close it would get stuck down. After I realized this if I flicked it a little with my finger it would come unstuck and my screen would light up fully. Eventually this didn't solve the problem over time as my screen decided to stay dark. If you're willing to take your laptop apart again check that out, maybe clean around that area. I haven't taken mine apart yet (I tend to break stuff further when i do that) to see if that is the real problem, but that's where mine seemed to stem from. I hope this will help.
