hard disk problem????plz help....

i have been using samsung 80 GB HDD on my computer but i wanted 2 connect it into my other computer.it worked fine for few days but one day when i clicked a partition on my 2nd HDD it showed that the partition is not formatted format it now yes or no.i clicked no.frm that time when i reboot my computer the 2nd hard disk is not visible in my computer or disk management or disk defragmenter however it is visible in bios.when i try 2 install windows in it the setup says the disk is not accessible and windows can be installed in MBR disks...wats this all about..plz help...i dont wanna loose my data in the second disk.the 1st disk is working fine. im using windows XP pro.

Just to make sure.. you adjusted the jumpers on the 2nd HDD so it was a slave right?
