ac97 driver help

i have an AOPEN mother board with the ac97 audio card i just installed windows xp had no sound at first then i was able to download a program called vinyle deck it worked but it sounded like it was a record being played fast. then i tried getting the raetech driver and i could never set it as my hardware driver. im kind of a noob at this and i have no clue what to do now any help would b awesome

im having the same problem with my asus mobo, A8N-SLI deluxe, cant download any drivers from asus b/c their website is down. I have a feeling that this is just a crap sound device, everyone has problems with it

im downloading a driver from realtek which may or may not help, ill post again when i see what happens, heres the link if you need it:

What Aopen board do you have,what Processor and what operating system,is it a PCI sound card or onboard sound, the more info you give the easier it is to find a solution
