New Memory Not Showing

Hello

Well I bought another Hynix HP 512mb DDR 400mhz CL3 stick of ram to go along with my Generic 512mb DDR 400mhz CL3. I plug it into the 2nd slot, making sure the little connecting things both cliped in.

Started up PC, in BIOS it still says like 524**** as the ammount of RAM still? In the Abit VA-10 motherboards book it says the slots can take upto 2GB of RAM.

I know the new RAM isn't dead since I'm using it right now, I put the new into the olds slot to test it.

When I had the 2 RAM's plugged in I could notice a speedup in Windows but in My Computer's properties it still said 512mb...

Is there a BIOS setting or something to activate the 2nd slot or have I just got bad luck?

Nevermind this thread! I got tinkering with the RAM, the way it worked: I put the old ram in the 2nd slot and new ram in the 1st. Yay.

You could have upgraded the BIOS
