I know a bit about computers but some things i'm foggy on so bear with me.
Recently bought an asus x850xt agp version, tried fitting to my computer, fitted it all correctly, hooked up the power connector to the card, tried it, i get a red message saying please refer back to the getting started guide and connect your power cable etc etc that sorta thing.
thought maybe it was my power supply, my old one was real under powered for a 500w, so i got a 450w but it has about 30amp on the +12v part so its more than enough, installed the psu, tried it didnt work again, so i thought maybe the card was faulty, but then i found something out about agp types, such as 2.0 3.0 etc. now my older card is an 9800 pro which works fine, it has 3 parts that go into the mother board (unsure on the name, but i think it indicates the card is 1.5v) and the x850xt only has 2 of those (which indicates 0.8v i believe)
now in my mother board manual it says and i quote
"This motherboard has an AGP slot that supports +1.5v agp cards only" so does this mean my 0.8v wont work in it? or maybe is it refering to older cards? or maybe its my agp slot type in my motherboard, the slot for it is brown so i dunno if that indicates what type it is or what, cause the card is vastly more powerful than the 9800 and capable of bigger performance and i wasnt sure if the agp slot type supported it
thanks for your time
