intel motherboard

First time PC builder.- I am going to purchase an Intel 955XBKLKR motherboard. It says it has a parallel port for ata100 hard drives [ Iwill only have 2 ] but that it also has 4 sata .what should I use? My power supply will have 2 sata connectors.

Data transfer is faster on SATA than IDE, if your budget allows, I'd go SATA
