Server Sound Problem

Hello Peoples I bought a new

HCL P4 2.8 Ghz
512 MB DDR RAM
80 GB Segate, 400 GB SATA
Windows 2003 SERVER

my problem is windows dosen't detect sound driver and dont know what is the sound driver in my mobo. i have also cmi8738 sound card. but can't find windows 2003 server driver. plz solve the problem.
i am waiting now............

HCL P4 is not the model, difficult to track sound with this information, are you useing onboard sound or the sound card, if the sound card then onboard sound if available should be disabled in the BIOS.Get Belarc Advisor

and post the report, but not the Software License section, it should give clues to the model or motherboard.

thanks for reply i am download the link software but this conflict with my dsl modem i am run 3 time and its show memory( dump memory) error.

then i go bios here some useful information.

onboard Ac97 audio controller.

then what was i do.
plz reply i am still waiting...

What model is your HCL, desktop, notebook, can you give more information Take a look any like yours http://www.hclinfosystems.com/products.htm

Pentium 4 2.26 Ghz Desktop
MOBO : HCL GA-8VM533
graphics : VT8238
RAM : 512 MB DDR HCL
HD : 80 GB , 400 GB
OS : Windows 2003 Enterprise Server
onboard bios detect Ac97 audio controller

Set a System restore point before installing driver just in case

Your board is a Gigabyte GA-8VM533, here is the link to ypur board, you will find your Audio driver there http://www.giga-byte.com/Support/Mot...ProductID=1731

Bookmark the link these are all your motherboard drivers

similar problem

I also have a Windows 2003 server that doesn't seem to understand sound.

I have an external CMI8738/PCI-6CH-MX sound card.

The driver that I have doesn't work. All the drivers that I have found are older...

Please Help!

take a look here at C-media forum, there is a drivr listed that seems to work
http://www.cmedia.com/forums/ it's in the PCI section.
