trouble in RAM Size

hello i am recent bought a new 256 MB DDR.
ram sticker shows 256 MB but here is main problem
see the picture.

if i see system information



if i see my computer




difference is 32 MB i can't understand plz explain this.

my bios show 32 MB shared memory.
what is the shared memory.

Shared memory is where a portion of you ram is allocated to an onboard device. This device is most likely an onboard video card.

Agrees, you can change the size of MB your onboard device is using aswell, if you got a PCI or AGP GFX card, you're memory would more likely show the true size.
