Crashes while trying to install windows
Hello
Just got a new comp
AMD 3500+ socket AM2
2gb dual channel(2*1gb) value select corsair ram
nVidia 6800GS PCIE
Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 Motherboard
200gb SATA hardrive (from old comp)
Here is the problem
I have put everything together, I think it is all correct, it is my first complete build of a system, but I am sure it is correct.
I am trying to install a streamlined version of windows xp pro with service pack 2 (I have tested it with my old home version same problem occurs), it turns on boots up, I can see it detects all the hardware correctly, and then it starts loading the drivers(SCSI and so on) and then it quickly says windows starting, then reboots, crashes, I have no Idea what the problem is. I thought it might be over heating, it wasnt, I swapped the sticks of ram around, in all different combinations, unless they are both dead it is not them.
I am completely lost, if you solve this, I thankyou and will owe you one.
