Problem final stage installing DVD burner.

Can anybody help me as this problem is driving me nuts. I have just upgraded my dvd burner and have had no problems installing it. Audio CD's and CD Rom's work fine however DVD's will not read at all. My previous DVD burner worked fine apart from the speed hence the upgrade. My operating system is Windows XP and the new dvd burner is a Pioneer DVR-111D.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what I need to do get DVD's working on my system?
