Wired HDD Probs

Is It Possible For A Mains Power Surge To Completly Wipe A HDD?

The HDD Works As Normal, With No Clicks, Or Strange Noises
The Customer Assures Me That There Was Data On The HDD Before The Surge And Before He Brought It To Me.

I've Slaved the HDD, And Windows Says That its Un-Partitioned
I've Attempted To Do A CHKDSK In The Recovery Console - (Windows Cannot See The System Drive)
I've Got To The Installing Windows Setup Screen And It Also Says That Its Un-Partitioned.

Has Anyone Ever Heard of Something Like This?

use TESTDISK (free) or Partition Doctor ($) to find the lost partition. There are other programs that will work.
Very likely the Master Partition Table or the Volume Boot Record has been corrupted.

I've used Hitachi's DFE program to see if that does anything. All It Said Was that the hardware was working fine.

Ran TestDisk as TopFarmer said and it found the lost partition in no time.

Now I Can See The Partition And All Of Its Data. Thanks For That.
