Reload Win 98SE

I need to reload my laptop for my boat. I want to clean up the hard drive so I was going to reformat. I have my cd with 98se but I have misplaced my code key. Is there a file on my laptop that would have my code key in it or am I better to just try cleaning up the hard drive.

Keyfinder will retrieve your Windows product key.

If you write it on the label side of the Windows CD with a felt-tipped pen, you'll have the key as long as you have the disk.
