The device driver may not be Vista compatible. Also, when you use the built-in "Upate Driver" in Device Manager, it only checks the Microsoft website for a newer driver, not the manufacturer's website. There may well be an updated driver available from the manufacturer's website that Microsoft doesn't have.

Intel have a chipset driver (945 GM)for Vista go here http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...6&submit=Go%21
this tells the target system which INF files to load.
install then restart your comp

HP only have drivers for Win XP http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s... duct=1838834

install the chipset then check Device Manager again and see if you need the audio driver

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps

Had a look at the download for audio, it say's that
"Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio," (or later) must be installed on the notebook before installing this SoftPaq.

As you can see under audio it is shown, install the M$ UAA then the Conexant audio

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INTALLING EACH DRIVER JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps
