160G HD now only 32G?

Hi,
I don't no what I'm doing (clearly!) when it comes to formatting a hard drive.
I have a new 160g IDE internal hard drive fitted into an external case, and (following the instructions) went to computer management then disk management which seen my 160 g HD, then I formatted it with FAT32.
Now disk management only sees that much, 32g.
My head hurts, where did the other 128g go, how do i get it back?

Thanks for any help, sorry if this has been posted before, couldn't find it.

1. Go to disk management and select all partitions in hardisk.
2. create again.

Note: Are you sure your xp installed sp2 because after sp2 windows dosn't recognise more then 120 GB.

Try to use some NT tec OS or Linux

There are some problems with big FAT32 partitions. Your hdd will forget your data someday. With WinXP or Win2k you can't even format partition with FAT32 it it's larger then 30 GB. Create partition again and format it with NTFS, if you are using OS that can read NTFS partitions natural.

hello.. I bought a Compaq V6000, hard Disk 120Gb, I would like to divide my hard disk or can I say create one partition more...

When I try using my DVD's Recovery system it allowed me just to format all the hard disk and didnt give any option to split.

If I try my other windows XP copy, installing a new copy, at the begging when I try to create a partition with the normal windows XP procedures, it says " no hard disk is in your system

Anyway... how to create or divide my Hard Disk using the Pc Recovery from compaq/

I would appreciate if someone could help me.
