I'm assuming you've physically removed the wireless card from the PC (laptop?), as you shouldn't have both it and a wired connection running at the same time. If it's a full -size PC with a PCI wireless card you need to uninstall it's software AND physically remove the card itself if you are hoping to get the wired connection working. Or go into Network Connections and disable the wireless connection with the option in the right-click context-menu.
Have you now run an ethernet cable from the router to the ethernet port on the computer?
If it's a full size PC with a ethernet network card fitted, have a look at the back where the ethernet lead plugs in. Should be a little green light. If no light, network card is "dead". Get a new one.
If it's a laptop, check in device manager that the "Intel Pro/100VE" is showing as installed okay with no red exclamation mark or yellow question mark. Either of those and probably it's driver needs re-installing.
