Acer + Realtek + WinXP = Another problem with sound...
I found on this forum some threads about problems with sound from headphones on Acer laptops with Realtek sound card, but my is a little different. There is a short story:
Yesterday I downloaded "brand new" Vista. I burned ISO on DVD, formated first partition (with Win XP, second was for important data) via Vista setup and started to install OS on it. Unfortunately, the DVD had some errors and installation crashed on 11%. I decided to install back XP from hidden partition made by Acer. And what did I see? That this $#^&*@ Vista merge all partitions (even that hidden!) and clear whole hard drive from data...
Today I've installed XP Professional from CD (cause I don't have hidden partition...). There were several problems with finding drivers but finally everything is working. Everything? No, that would be so beatiful. When I plug-in the headphones there is sound from them and...from built-in speakers! I was trying to find if there is possibilty to mute speakers but couldn't do that.
Can anyone help me? Maybe someone has the same problem and has solved it?
