check this to see if Realtek is default audio driver

Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

get he driver from realtek http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs

Tick I accept the above – wait till site resets then click Next

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

The site is slow

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

check this out
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.

if still no sound go to Asus and install the Chipset driver - then Restart your comp, then install audio driver again

http://support.asus.com/download/dow...l=P5GC-MX/1333

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Hi.
Try to go into your bios and enable "on board audio". I've also got a realtek chip and if I want to use, I have to do that. Before doing it, disable any audio driver else, it's better. Then, after enabled, install realtek drivers. Maybe it can work. (I'm not english either).
