HP Printer Puzzle

I have an HP Deskjet 932C. My OS is Windows 98SE. I have been using printer for years and with no problem. I had it connected to an analog port. I now have a USB cable and tried to connect. But it no
t only is not recognized by the computer, but now when I put the old connection together it won't find that one either. It says " computer out of paper", which it is not. I have reinstalled the printer with the cd twice and no change. YIKES! What does anyone suggest?

I would try removing both the analog and usb drivers altogether and then starting from scratch using the analog.

I had one of these printers years ago and found it unreliable to say the least.
