Primary Hard Disk Error

Hi..
When im installing my MAXTOR 30 GB hard disk, after booting the pc its says primary hard disk failure/error..i already set the jumper correctly to master..pls help me..

If you are useing the jumper position label on the hdd , it can be very confusing on some models were the jumpers are 180 off. Where it might look like the Maser is next to the IDE cable while it is actually next to the power plug. On some it is Master with a slave device and different then Master with no other device .

You may need to enter Bios setup and redetect hdd's.

If more help is needed post # of HDD's , CD's and on what IDE cable, and reason why you are putting in new hdd.
