Post Hard Disk or BIOS or motherboard

Well,it all began when i took my hard disk to my friends house to install
Win XP and Linux(FC 2),when i plugged the hard disk back on my PC.
Error: NON SYSTEM DISK .INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

So, i checked got the hard disk checked on my friend's PC,it worked perfectly all right.
So,surprisingly but my friend's hard disk was working perfectly on my PC.
Next ,I inserted a Windows XP HOME(ORIGINAL) in the CD drive.
and changed the boot sequence from BIOS.
1.CDROM
2.HDD0
3.HDD1
Now,at startup,
PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD...........
I didn,t press any key,now the system worked normally.
Next time when i removed the CD(bootable),same error flashed.
Error: NON SYSTEM DISK .INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.

Each time i start the system using a CD,but even that has stopped working(even now this works rarely) .Now
PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD........... this doesn,t come.
System boots from CD directly ,and setup of Windows starts.Even, when it reboots during the setup ,the setup starts all over again.
Windows 98 CD doesn't even detect the disk
I hav tried everything, changing jumper setting, formatting hard disk,
changing BIOS setting,surface scan.
If there a problem in hard disk then, why it boot from another PC.
If there a problem in mother board then why other Hard disk works perfectly.
?????????????????????????
Configuration:
Hard disk SAMSUNG SP0411N
Pentium 4 1.60 GHz
256 RAM SDRAM
SANSUNG CDR/DVD Combo

Finally can some please help its urgent........
