Try the Everest Ultimate edition, it's a 30 day trial, but save the report then copy and paste the summary, look under motherboard and see if it gives a make and model

Everest shows this:

Analog Devices AD1888/AD1980 @ Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-2/A-3] PCI

Every time I try to install the AC'97 driver pack I get the memory dump problem.

Thanks.

bro..ur help will be like a dream come true!!

it's a Asus P4S533-X not the P4S533

http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

it's a zip file install this way - use the China download Global wants you to install a download manager

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it (make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

If no Setup file

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio device Realtek, Soundmax C-Media etc ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

I downloaded the driver but upon installation is says "This system does not support the driver you are attempting to install" I cant understand it as the system is clearly offered under the Dimension 3100 on the Dell driver website. You have any ideas?

Thanks for the help so far

Get Everest / copy and paste the Computer – Summary section. Leave out the Debug –PCI section.
