sound problem!!!help

hi guys!
i seem to have a problem with my audio.there's no sound coming out of my speakers.the only time there's sound is when i use the multimedia player.it started when i installed a new hard drive and had formatted.i installed the needed softwares but now i'm having this problem..i'm clueless on how to go about this problem.i tried going to the device manager but nothing seems to work..i really need help??

What make and model is your comp, or get Belarc copy and paste the report, omit the software sectionand win updates http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
