Question help with a build using pcchips m811 mb

I am using a chassis from a old HP with a much different power on off switch configuration. I swapped out the mb and now and struggling with the switch harness. is there a purchase harness or should i just use the loose pins to hook it up. (are they even compatible.)

second question is this

Will the pc start up even without ram installed
i have to send my ram back for an exchange because switching out the the mb meant i had to get new ram. I got the fans to turn on but no activity on the video card and this is my first ever build pc from scratch project

any tips would be greatly appreciated

It sounds like you really don't know what you're doing! I'm not sure what you mean by "struggling with the switch harness". I presume you have a manual which clearly states where each switch wire goes, what jumper settings to use etc.
"Will the pc start up even without ram installed", I would wait to have your ram back b4 trying to boot.

clarification

The chassis I am using is an HP and it has a harness for the switching mechanism. My question is do i just take all of leads out of the harness and put them on the proper pins or is there a harness for the pcchips board. To me it seems shady to just leave the pin connections unprotected like that. All I got from the purchase of the board is a 1 page sheet showing the locations on the MB. Like I said before this is my first time building a pc and I am learning on the fly.

thanks for the help though

Without seeing your HP "harness" it's hard to understand exactly what the difference is. It is quite acceptable to "leave the pins unprotected", they don't come under any stress. it sounds like the HP leads have a custom adaptor for their own m/board. It's unlikely, as you're finding, that it will match the pins on your new board. just make sure you get the correct leads on the correct pins. The pc won't finish the post without ram, so you won't know about the graphic card until it's all complete. Have you looked on the web for a .pdf manual for your new m/board? I know that pc chips aren't the best for web support as their site is sooo slow!
Their manual resides here
i don't know if its any more comprehensive than your one page item.

Ive downloaded your manual which will give you more info than the sheet that came with your purchase. I suggest you do the same.

Is your graphic card a pci or agp?
