Audio problems
I have been doing research online for the past week or so trying to get the audio on my computer to work. I have tried installing and updating drivers, I have tried putting in a new Audio PCI card both to no avail. I have tried entering the BIOS in order to turn off the on board sound just in case they were fighting for resources, but that apparently wasn't the problem. I keep getting the "NO AUDIO DEVICE" message and I've checked many times to see if the system windows audio was working. It's set to Automatic for boot up. There seems to be alot of problems around this stupid Realtek'97 Audio driver because most of the forums I view are talking about the same driver. I have tried updating my drivers to the most recent versions and now I'm really frustrated and what not, because I'd like to have some sound.
Unfortunently I do not have any windows XP Home edition disks to reinstall windows so that is out of the question.
My CPU is a "Compaq Presario S5400NX"
I think that is all about my system you need to know really... That should give you almost exact system specs...
Any help you can give to me would be wonderful.
