Loading games slowly think something is fried

i was putting a pci slot fan in my computer and i forgot to turn the computer off(really dumb i know)well the fan touched the mother board and i got smoke but one of the fans went out on the slot fan so i think the smoke came from the fan that went out,but now everything seems to run a little slower and it takes like 5 minutes to load up counterstrike souce.but i havent found anything wrong execept i think it erased my restore points in windows and steam had to update so i think maybe some memory is gone(dont know) specs e6850 intel core duo and a 8800gts 2 gigs memory and 500 gig harddrive.does anyone know what i did

I forgot to put the motherboard IP35 pro offlimits and im running winxp, and a sound blaster x-fi extreme music

Now im getting window file currupt messages and i went to my windows folder and there is 100 uninstall folders(i have never seen that before)

i got a blue screen but it went to fast to write down the number and when it loaded back up it checked disks for errors by itself and and restarted agian then loaded fine but still takes for ever to load a game
