Please Help

I put my recovery cd in to my cd drive to whipe my hardrive and give me back all of the defaults but then something happenned and the process was stuck at 50% for a day so i put in my windows xp disk and everything was fine expect all my hardware is messed up including my CD drive and my video controller. when i go tothe device manager no CD drive comes up and under other devices there is : Video Controller(VGA Compatible) with a question mark. I do have all my cd's for all of my hardware but yet i can not use them. here is the hardware situation.

- Windows Xp Home Edition SP2
-ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard
-LG CD-RW/DVD-Rom Drive
- RADEON 9200 GPU

Radeon Driver

for the lg drive
it could be the fact thats its not installed correctly
try putting the old one back on just to test the wiring
and if that doesnt work
you might need the firmware but i need a model number for the LG Drive

Where does timbonnell say he got another CD-ROM drive?

I'm not quite sure about this suggestion. Firmware is saved in a flash-memory on the drive and shouldn't have been modified since he didn't do a firmware update recently.

I would try to reinstall Windows XP (repair installation) with the CD and after reinstallation install the normal drivers for both devices.

When this doesn't work, you could try a firmware update.
