Another "No Audio Devices" Problem
After 4 days of trying to fix the problem, I have not found any solutions. Hopefully someone here will be able to help.
The problem: I turned on my computer a few days ago, and there was no sound. Going to Control Panel -> Sounds it says there are no audio devices, and all options are greyed out.
I tried re-installing my audio drivers, but half way through the process it stopped and said "Driver destination failed: could not find MEDIA device for this driver."
Going to Device Manager -> Sound, Video, and Game Controllers the listing is:
-Audio Codecs
-Legacy Audio Drivers
-Legacy Video Capture Devices
-Media Control Devices
-Video Codecs
Under Device Manager -> System Devices -> System Speaker -> Properties it says "no drivers are installed for this device."
System Information -> Sound Device has no listings.
Computer Management -> Services and Applications -> Services windows audio is set to started and automatic. There is no listing for "audio."
I am on a Compaq Presario v5000 with Windows XP
Motherboard is HP 30AE
Chipset is ATI Radeon RS480M
AMD Turion Processor
Thank you in advance for any help that can be given!
