Unhappy Acer - aspire 3680 - sound trouble.

Hi there, i'm new and im having trouble with my sound like many other people. But i would appreicate it if you could take the time to help me as it's driving me crazy! all i want to do is listen to music!

I basically messed around with the settings when i got it so that i could plug in my speakers, which worked great! however when i unplugged them my pc started screeching at me, and i had to mute all the sound. So i changed the settings again and i got sound to come out of just the pc, but when i turned it up the screeching started again, so i had to keep it about 30-40. Now i just keep the settings the same and use the speakers. But when i put it on that setting, now nothing works. Whats happened!!! I can get my comp to screech - or get my speakers to do the work. But is there a way i can get the settings to work fine without speakers, and will just change automatically when they are plugged in?? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Thanks
Rachel

thry this.

ok, i guess your laptop must have an built in microphone.

try this. insert a plug into the microphone / mic jack next to the head phone jack and see if the screeching sound stops, or if there is any change in the sound.

If it does, that means your microphone boost is on, so you will have to turn it off,

well i dont think the microphone can be turned off nor mute, its according to the model i guess.
or maybe you can disable it.
but you can turn the boost right down, this should stop all troubles
