No sound on acer travelmate

Hi there,
I bought an Acer Travelmate 2480 a few months ago which came with Windows Vista. I wiped the hard drive and installed XP. Now it doesn't recognize that there is any sound device, and I've searched high and low for drivers that will fix the problem, but to no avail. I can't adjust any of the sound options because nothing is recognized. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

Personally I would NEVER buy an Acer because of their unprofessional technical support and tech support web site but that's me.

It may take you two or three tries to download the software(stupid pop-up and other active page crap from their site)
