Its sound like video problem, smell like, but i dont think it is , please advise.

hi,
i have a problem with my pc which i dont know where to put my finger on.

i having problem running in running games. everytime i try to run a game i get a message from the monitor (power saving mode.....) and then the monitor going black while i can still hear the pc running (the vents).

its first happening to me 2 weeks ago after installed COD4 and GOW , so first i thought maybe my video card cant handle those games (my video card is ati x1950pro agp).

also at that time there was some loud noise from one of the ventilated so i opened to box and saw that the vent on the video card isnt working.

today (2 weeks after) i returned from the lab with a brand new video card , they upgrade it from x1950pro 256mb to x1950pro 512mb, so i put it in, and installed new driver but again same problem accured but now i decided to check other games that worked perfectly before and the same problem accured.

if thats not a video card problem (although its sounded like- the new video card deny this theory) what could it be ?
i considering put the hole pc to the lab to check it out , but im not realy want to , cause they like a garage , u can never be sure that what they are telling you, is the truth.

maybe it the agp slot ?!

please advise .
also, i have a lot stuuff that i dont want to guy at the lab see , can i do something about that ?

my specs are:
asus ps800d
p4 3.0ghz
1 giga memory
ati x1950pro 512mb

Thanks for a well written post, plenty of info, it does sound weird, you've done the best thing by swap testing your graphics card with a new one.

It could be your monitor, what I would try is, changing the refresh rate, so something lower, if no difference, try something higher.

Also unplug the VGA cable out the back of your PC, leave it a few seconds, then plug back in, see if this does anything.
